Our Values

Where Nourishment, Play, and Whanaungatanga Guide Our Every Day

At Four Seasons Kindergarten, our values are more than words — they are the living heart of our teaching, relationships, and daily rhythms. They shape how we care for tamariki, engage with whānau, and nurture a sense of belonging in our community. Grounded in the Steiner Waldorf approach and interwoven with Aotearoa’s unique cultural fabric, our values guide us in creating an environment where children thrive holistically

Our Values

  • Nourishment
At Four Seasons Kindergarten, we value the nourishment of the whole child—their physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being. This includes nourishing the body through kai, supporting the senses with natural smells, resources, and creative experiences, and fostering a sense of love and warmth through the connection with whānau, kaiako, and friends. We nurture thinking through collaborative problem-solving and encourage the spirit through unhurried time for play, allowing children to thrive holistically.

  • Play
Play is at the heart of learning and well-being in our kindergarten. By providing unhurried time for play, children are empowered to explore their creativity, imagination, and social-emotional skills. Through play, they gain confidence, make sense of their world, and process their experiences in a meaningful way.

  • Whanaungatanga
We embrace the value of whanaungatanga, fostering relationships and a sense of family connection. Through shared experiences and working together, children and families develop a strong sense of belonging. This kinship creates mutual rights and obligations that strengthen the bonds within our community and celebrate the importance of togetherness.
