Navigating Four Seasons Enrolment Process

Considering Four Seasons Kindergarten for your tamaiti? The following are the essentials you’ll need to know as you make your way towards an enrolment with us:

  •  The Starting Point: Joining the Waiting List

Begin your journey into Four Seasons Rudolf Steiner Kindergarten by adding your name to our waiting list at no cost and with no obligations. Enjoy invitations to parent education evenings, craft nights, and seasonal festivals with your tamariki, offering a glimpse into our kindergarten life.

  • Moving from Waiting List to Enrolment

We nurture only 20 tamariki daily, so our waiting list can move slower than other ECE centres. When placing your tamaiti onto our waiting list, please let us know your hopes, when you’d like to begin, how many days, and if there’s any flexibility with dates. Upon availability (when a current tamaiti transitions on to school, or the next step in learning, or a whānau moves), we'll extend an invitation to you for a discussion. This is an opportunity to explore your tamaiti (child’s) and whānau needs and to ensure we will be the right environment for your tamaiti to be nurtured. If you decide to enrol, a $50.00 fee secures your spot.

  • How do we coordinate who begins and when?

Siblings of current and/or prior Four Seasons tamariki and tamariki who have been attending the Four Seasons Rudolf Steiner Playgroup receive priority. The Playgroup is an independently run group that currently meets on Monday mornings and Wednesday afternoons. You can be in touch with them via their Facebook page. Additionally, a whānau commitment to engaging with our special character (Steiner Waldorf) is important. It creates a synergy between home-life and kindergarten. Being on the waiting list doesn't guarantee entry. Please be in touch with us to discuss your individual needs.

  • Easy Transitions: Easing into Kindergarten Life

Transitioning into kindergarten is a significant step, and we approach it thoughtfully with scheduled visits alongside whānau. This is a way for us to begin to get to know and trust each other, with visits lasting between 1 and 2 hours in length. Once tamariki begin with us, the kindergarten day is from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, with a minimum 3-day commitment. The initial month offers flexibility with a shorter day of 8.30 am – 12.30 pm.

  • Learning Alongside Your Tamaiti

Our commitment extends beyond tamariki to whānau. Attend seminars to deepen your understanding of Steiner Waldorf Education. It's an opportunity for active engagement and support in your parenting journey.

  • Age Matters: Two to Six Years Old

We educate tamariki from two to six years old, aligning with the Ministry of Education's guidelines. However, at any given time, we typically like to have no more than two or three 2-year-olds as part of our group and will navigate our waiting list to accommodate this. We believe that 2-year-olds come with their own unique needs; they deserve the time and commitment to find a secure sense of self and belonging in our group.

If you're seeking a holistic, natural, and Steiner Waldorf approach for your tamaiti, Four Seasons Kindergarten could be the ideal place for your whānau. Let's navigate this journey together, focusing on the essentials as we prepare for the road ahead.
